The company's involvement

Melford Hall consisted of two five-storey blocks of luxury apartments located in the centre of Bournemouth.

ACS Ltd was called in to assist with the design and installation of an Automatic Opening Ventilation system (AOV), which would operate vents located in each stairwell and also open the main entry and exit doors on ground floor level. In order to maintain the clean lines of the glazing, ACS Ltd decided to install chain actuators to each vent which due to their slimline design, remain unobtrusive.

The exit and entry doors were fitted with TS4000E automatic operators enabling the doors to be opened by the occupants for everyday use and yet automatically opening each door upon an alarm.

The entire system is controlled by a fully-monitored ACS control cabinet fitted with emergency battery backup as standard and interfaced with an existing fire alarm by others.

E50⁄1 wallmounted rocker switches were also installed to allow the occupants to open vents on each floor for daily ventilation purposes.
